The second trimester of pregnancy runs from week 13 through week 27 of your pregnancy. This is the time when you will begin to look pregnant and may start to wear maternity clothes.
By this time, the breast tenderness, morning sickness, and fatigue of the first trimester ease up or disappear during the second trimester, making this the easiest part of your pregnancy. You'll have a while before you begin to feel the physical discomforts of late pregnancy, and the pressure on your bladder may lessen as the uterus grows up out of the pelvis.
The second trimester is what most women call the best part of pregnancy. There are so many changes happening to your body and your baby - your belly begins to show, and you even start to feel your baby move! This is around the time wherein you will learn about prenatal testing such as AFP screening, genetic testing, ultrasounds and more. |
